Bungie Day And New Destiny Information

Among the Bungie Community there is a day known as Bungie Day.  Due to the companies love for the number seven, Bungie Day takes place on July 7th.  In the past this was a time of new information for upcoming games, a free map for Halo 3, and a whole variety of things.  There was even an event where players could win Steaks, but that is a story for another day.

So what have we learned from this year?  Lots of info for the Destiny Beta, a trailer, and the announcement of a collector's edition for Destiny.  There are three versions: the Limited Edition, the Digital Guardian Edition, and the Ghost Edition.  I've included a picture of the Ghost Edition below:

The Limited Edition contains the following:
-Limited Edition SteelBook Case
-Guardian Folio, containing a field guide book that will list various weapons in-game, post cards from the "Golden Age", and a star chart.
-Collector’s Edition Digital Content:A unique Ghost Casing, and an exclusive player emblem, and an exclusive ship.
-Destiny Expansion Pass for the first two DLC expansions: The Dark Below and Den of Wolves.  If you get the regular version of Destiny the Expansion Pass will cost $34.99, and each individual expansion will cost $19.99.

The Digital Guardian Edition comes with everything but the physical items listed above.

Then finally is the Ghost Edition which comes with everything in the Limited Edition along with memorabilia from the game like pictures of first contact with the traveler, and a full scale, motion sensing replica of the Ghost.  It lights up and will even talk, so if you ever wanted a robot that is voiced by Peter Dinklage on your desk, this is for you.

More information was given on the beta as well.  As you may know from E3, the beta will start on PS3 and PS4 on July 17th.  Then the Xbox 360/Xbox One beta will start on the 23rd.  See the chart below for more information:

Not only that but everyone who pre-orders Destiny will receive early access to the Vanguard Armory which will consist of weapons, armor, and an emblem.  It is unclear if this is exclusive gear or if this is gear that can be earned in game without the Armory.

Here is a trailer for the beta, with a few new snippets of footage.  Enjoy!

No word if there are any more announcements coming from Bungie today, but I'll keep you posted.  Stay tuned and be sure to watch IGN for coverage of the beta this week.
